Monthly Tarot Horoscope August 2022

This months tarot deck is the Morgan-Greet Tarot. I have been using these cards for over 6 years. I hope they give you some insight into your month ahead. It is impossible to dip into everyone's individual lives all at once and so I have tuned into the collective energy of each star sign. Michelle x



Leo

Knight of Pentacles

This card shows a knight standing upright, with a plume of oak leaves coming from the helmet. The front guard partially covers the knights’ eyes, he has a chin guard. The sun is a disc in the distance. The sky yellow. He carries a pentacle for a shield and a jousting rod. A red scarf is tied to his shield arm.


For Leo the month of August brings prosperity of the mind as things clear for you. Always needing to be the leader is an assumption that you do not have to keep fulfilling. You have a tendency to block yourself and to see things in the way that you perceive them often, discounting what another says. You do not do this because you are unkind but because you believe in holding others together and too many opinions can spoil the dynamics that you strive for. It is time to let go of the need to be in control. You hold everything in but sometimes it feels good to let everything out. Your throat chakra is blocked because you often make a choice to be seen to be in control, that is not in alignment with your thoughts or instincts. The red scarf is like a wound that you carry. A past hurt that you feel responsible for.


This month sit with your thoughts, clear your mind, let it calm and then make your decisions from there. There feels like a big decision to make that will help others as well as yourself. You have a strong sense of self, and you like to be recognised and valued. Take things slowly, when you have made your decision (which feels like a move to another county or country) let those around you know your thoughts. You have an impatience in you for change which may be a little self-destructive right now. You could try to emphasise your passion for your decision to those involved. Change is what is needed.


Virgo

The Star

This card shows a woman comfortable with herself and who she is. She is holding two jugs of water. One she is pouring into a pond which she is making, the other she is pouring to create a stream. She kneels on one knee surrounded by countryside. A tree stands on either side of her shoulders, both different but in harmony. There is a single red flower and red bird on her right. Above her head sits a shining golden star. Two streams of silver/white stars come down from the night sky and into her head.


For the Virgo in the month of August this represents manifestation. The woman is creating stability on one side and going with the flow on the other. You want consistency and you want change, and you want it together. This feels quite strongly for you. The consistency means you understand who you are. The change means you want to grow as a person. You recognise yourself as an individual quite strongly, you always have. Your battle of the self has been more about struggling with other people’s perceptions of who you are and not the other way around. You have been creating and manifesting for quite some time now. You felt you had to manage others’ expectations of you, take a soft approach, to get to where you want to be. Except that you don’t need to do this. Step into who you are. If other people aren’t ready, then they have to work through that themselves. You have held yourself back for far too long and now step out into freedom, possibilities and adventures. Well done. August is a particularly strong time for you to put your dreams and wishes into place. Get manifesting. Here it comes.


Libra

The Three of Pentacles

The card shows a man with a hammer and chisel working away, cutting into stone. He stands below an arched stained-glass window in red and yellow. There are three pentacles at the top part of the window. The man is represented as dark.


In this case the card represents anger for the Libran. You feel that you work hard and cannot escape the situation you are currently in. You periodically down tools in protest, but it does not do you any favours. You have been your own worst enemy for quite some time. You have difficulty looking at yourself and like to place the blame on other’s shoulders. The only way to move forward is for you to look at yourself, but there is a strong reluctance there. You are currently isolating yourself and by extension isolating those around you. Your old patterns used to serve you, but they don’t seem to have the impact they used to.


There is much about your life that you like. You feel out of place and will continue to do so until you are ready to have a look at how you behave. Your path keeps repeating itself and you keep having the same problems in life. Take time to step back. The next 6 months are about taking a look where you don’t want to go – looking at you. Understanding who you are, why you behave the way that you do. Be kind to yourself.


Scorpio

The Queen of Cups

The card depicts a woman holding a golden chalice, standing at the water’s edge. There is a shell in the background. She has pearls on her crown, unicorn horn and oyster shells. Her hair is braided, not too tightly. She wears a moon and pearl necklace, pearl earrings, pearls decorate her sleeves. The water is not calm but not choppy. She looks off into the horizon.


August for the Scorpion shows a growth in confidence, but also a willingness to challenge others who do not believe in you. You are thinking about decisions which need to be made. You know in your heart what you want and what will make you happy. This does not make you selfish it makes you self-aware. You do not need to talk others round to what you want for yourself. You think you need to justify your choices, but you don’t. Go with what you are thinking it is the right thing for you.


New adventures await. Your manifestation skills need a little work but generally they work well for you. The message from the card is believe in yourself. You are talented and could choose several different paths but follow your heart. You are in tune with who you are – go for it.


Sagittarius

The Knight of Rods

The card depicts a Knight in armour with a yellow cloak. He is in the desert or scorched earth. He carries a staff or club which has acorns and oak leaves growing out of it with gaps in between them. He wears a helmet which protects his throat, his forehead and the back of his head/neck. On the top sits a yellow phoenix or dragon. On the yellow glove is the shadow of a lizard.


Right now, you feel weary. You feel like you have been fighting battles with other people who are getting in the way of you growing. Work isn’t how you imagined it to be. You grow a little, stop to rest and then grow some more. You are trying to move forward and look out to the future, but your past is hindering you. You don’t want to look back. You have some shadow work to do. That other self that you have been trying to avoid.


You feel that you can only look after yourself at the moment because you are tired and drained. As much as you have put armour around you to protect you it isn’t doing a very good job. This is because you need to face your fears. You are moving forward as a person and growing but not at the speed you would like. Once you take a look behind you and understand what happened and what makes you, you, growth will come like a rocket and pick you up. You will enjoy your journey of self-discovery. Work feels disharmonious for you. Its ok to look for a job that suits you more. Be picky.


Capricorn

The Three of Cups

This card is about relationships. It shows three women each with a wrath of plants and flowers or berries. Either side there are grape vines. In front of the women is a table of fruit, some partially eaten. Centre stage are three tall golden chalices.


Capricorn it feels like your family or friends, possibly both are draining you right now. You usually enjoy the abundance of August but for some reason you are dreading this one. The women in this particular reading are quite stern and judgemental of you at this time. It feels like you have upset them. The cups in the front represents the relationship between you as it used to be. It felt quite rosy but materialistic. I feel you have grown tired of materialism, but they haven’t. You have moved away from them, and you don’t know how to tell them.


Start by being in nature yourself, having some quiet time for contemplation. It feels like you are deciding whether to keep them in your life. Is there a way forward where you see them in a neutral setting so that no one has the upper hand, no one can take control? All parties are free to leave when they choose.


Aquarius

The eight of cups

The card tells the story of someone turning their back on something, walking away, closing a chapter. They move off to the side. They wear a long hooded red cloak and walk with a red staff. In front of them are dark mountains and they are reluctant to go this way. Behind them on the sand are the eight golden chalices set in two formations, but still close together. One of three cups underneath and two on top; the other two cups underneath with one on top.


August is going to be quite muddled for you. You have not been happy for a long time, you have voiced your unhappiness and tried to make some changes. The people close to you have listened and done what they can with what they have. The reason you can’t seem to come together anymore is because you are in different places. You have withdrawn from the relationship. Now you are taking steps to leave the relationship. You are reluctant to make changes and be blamed for what happened. You hide yourself. You have a staff that you are leaning on, but you feel you have been leant on one too many times.


You are in transition; you aren’t sure what you want but you know you have to exit stage right. You wish to move quickly, go quietly. You are afraid you won’t be able to leave. You can leave any time you wish it is your choice to go or stay. If you stay you will prolong what is going to happen but happen it will. The end will not be as unpleasant as you feel. Step forward honour yourself.


Pisces

The Nine of Rods

A man carrying a rod or staff wearing a breast plate and helmet. The helmet has a long, impressive plume of red. He wears a red cloak and gloves of red and orange. In the background are brown mountains and a yellow sky. The other eight rods stand between the man and the mountains. They have oak leaves growing from them especially around the top representing a recent sprouting of growth.


You are starting to learn what makes you tick. The wall of rods represents emotional growth for you. You are learning to put in place emotional boundaries in relationships, but you wish it was not so hard work! The rods represent bars and beyond them your freedom in the mountains. The mountains appear brown because you are not sure what your freedom looks like.


August is a time of reflection for you. You would like to have better boundaries in place in relationships. You find yourself getting angry and frustrated with yourself and the people that are trying to control or contain you for their own means. You are confident in yourself; you know you are a good person. Sometimes you feel your moral compass is spinning not because you don’t know right from wrong but because you are trying to please others who do not deserve your time. You are your own guide, stay true to yourself. Have your own back. You cannot carry everyone and you are not meant to. Your kind heartedness should not be mistaken for weakness because you are truly strong. Those that tug at you have work to do on themselves. Keep going you are about to figure out the last piece of the puzzle about yourself.


In the meantime, there are many aspects of your life which you feel are working well for you. You are more intuitive than you realise. Sometimes you find you have synchronicity and then it seems to drop out. Trust your judgement. Don’t doubt yourself. You have many gifts and talents and can turn your hand to most things if you choose.


Aries

The Eight of Rods

This card is full of abundance. The rods represent growth. Three of the ends of the rods are visible which shows where the person has cut off their growth themselves. There are rolling clouds and blue skies. Countryside with a calm blue river. On a hill stands a dark tower slightly hidden by trees and the hill.


August is a time of much personal growth for you. You have been afraid of growing in case you leave someone dear to you behind. The tower represents a secret that you are keeping from this person. You enjoy the sunshine and have been feeling renewed. It is not wise or kind to yourself to stop yourself from growing. The person you fear you leave behind may grow as you grow. This is their choice to make. Would you stop them from growing? If the answer is yes, then it is time to have a look at your fears. If they grow do you feel threatened? Do you have the right to stop them from growing? If you were giving your friend advice in this situation, what advice would you give them? It is time to move forward otherwise you run the risk of stifling yourself and the one you love.


Taurus

The Empress

The card depicts a woman sitting. Her left foot is balanced on the moon. Her right is on the ground. She holds a shield with an eagle on it in her right arm and a water lily with rushes in her other arm. On her chest sits a red heart with a gold cross. Behind is a water fall and tries to either side. The sleeves of her dress are quite puffed out.


Taurus this card is showing that you have an inflated sense of self at this time. This is not said to knock you down only to help you to centre yourself. You feel that you are in charge of a large part of your life, but then it keeps slipping away from you. You feel you have done lots of hard work on yourself but the feeling from the card is that you are talking the talk and not actually looking at yourself in a way that would help you to move forward.

August is a time of sitting still for you. Not because you can’t move but because you are choosing to sit back and say look what I have done. It feels quite lonely where you are. It also feels like you enjoy being centre of attention and putting yourself on a pedestal. I apologise if this feels a little harsh, but I can only relay what the card is giving me. There are no words of wisdom to give you until you are ready to ask for them.


Gemini

The Two of Cups

A man and a woman are holding cups to each other in honour. Both wear cloaks, her a laurel wreath on her head and him a band of red. Behind are dark trees.


The message from the card is to remember to celebrate your relationships with your loved ones. Celebration is a form of honouring. You have people in your life that love you, but sometimes you put a barrier between that love. Sometimes it is to protect yourself from being hurt, sometimes it is because you are not feeling happy, and the barrier comes up.

You have a kind heart but are not always keen to show it, mostly because you are afraid that someone will take a piece of it with them and take something away from you. It is ok to love. It is ok to be loved.


Let people celebrate their relationship with you, not everyone has an agenda they just want to be loved just like you.


Cancer

Death/New beginnings

The card shows the grim reaper holding a scythe in both hands. In front is a lovely white rose. Behind is a red river and dark trees. The sun could be either setting or rising. A bird flies in the distance.


This is a card of new beginnings for you. It feels like the old saying ‘as one door shuts another one opens’. There are new opportunities for you if you would like to take them. It almost feels like it would be easier for you to stay the same for those around you, but it isn’t what you want or wish for.


There are new adventures awaiting. You make a choice but feel that it does not suit you as well as you thought it would. Perhaps you made the choice to suit everyone rather than fit in with you. In a month or two you will change your mind and change your choice. It will be the right thing for you. You cannot please everyone and you know this, yet somehow you got stuck pleasing someone and now you regret it.


You will make some good choices later in the year. You are feeling stifled and need to grow, in fact you are itching to grow. Trust that you make the right decisions. You always think of everyone else, and you still will but you have the freedom to take a risk so do it. It will work out for you.
